Installation

Have you purchased decorative panels or are you just going to do it? In any case you should think beforehand how to carry out the installation of gypsum 3D panels. The process is not complicated however there are a number of peculiarities to be taken into account while installing.

3D gypsum panel installation requires definite skills and practice. A skilled moulding worker, a tyler, a good painter or gypsum cardboard worker can do the installation in case of following step by step instruction. To carry out the right installation it's necessary to take into account the following aspects:

*Material of walls. The installation of 3D panels can be done on the walls made of gypsum cardboard, concrete, brick, gas concrete. The walls faced with wood are included in the list too.

* The surface must be even and dry. Contortion of 3-4 mm is possible, otherwise the wall is to be leveled with plaster.

* Selection of adhesive materials. To provide effective adhesion between the wall and the panel only trustworthy producers are recommended. Such as Knauf or Pufas.

* Selection of final covering, the way of its application.

This instruction suggests general recommendations. Our specialists will provide free additional consulting on the telephone. Telephone number is + 374 (93) 97 97 70

PREPARATION

1. Prepare the surfaces. Make sure that the wall where 3D panels are to be installed have smooth surfaces. If the roughness is more than 4mm the surface must be leveled with plaster.

2. It's desirable (not necessary) that the walls be primed then the adhesion of the panel with the wall will go better. Also make sure that the surface is flat, dry and clean.

3. Panels are not installed on movable surfaces such as retractable doors, interior windows. In this case cracks can appear at the junctions.

4. Additional measuring of the walls and recounting of the panels will make it possible to see the general image of installation. Arrange the panels on the floor. Then you can get the final layout of the pattern

5. If you intend to have a backlight you should think of it in advance. And don't forget that backlight will make even the smallest defects appeared during the installation more visible.

Preparation stage is over. the following one is the basic installation. There are two ways of doing it

INSTALLATION. Variant 1 (gypsum putty)

To install the first line of the panels you need to mark the line on the wall with a level tool. You can also fix a horizontal profile which will hold the first row (this variant is suitable for the walls where skirting is to be installed). During the installation of the panels in the recess or the apertures in the walls the panels can be installed directly on the bottom. use the level tool for exact installation of the first panel.

The panels are to be installed from the bottom up beginning from the left of the right edge. Install the first row and wait until the mixture dries in accordance with the instruction of the producer (usually 20-

40 min). Try to put the panels neatly and close to one another if there are no hindering reasons. If the joints are thin and delicate the surface of further processing is decreasing.

WALL DECO collection includes 2 types of panels: seam panels (when after installation the seams between panels underline the pattern) and panels without seams (after processing and putting the seams are invisible and the whole pattern is seen). Seam models generally don't need further processing and after installation the further stage, painting follows.

The method of putting the mixture: put a thin layer on the wall or the panel, remove the extra putty with a comb, put the panel in accordance with the marks made in advance, seat it on the wall moving it up and down, right and left and vacuum appears with the wall. The panels can be installed with the use of glue, gypsum putty, gypsum glue.

If the necessary the last row of the panels can be cut in accordance with the height of the ceiling. Ordinary saw with small cogs and sandpaper can be used (N120).

INSTALLATION.Variant 2 ( fastening elements)

The process of preparation is the same as in variant 1. With the aim of fastening screws and dowels can be used. The selection of the dowels depends on the material of the wall. Traditional sets of dowels and screws are used for solid walls. The size of the screws and dowels can be various in definite cases. 8x600 and 8x800 can be suitable. Special sets are used for gypsum cardboard walls.

Step by step installation with the fastening method:

1.Mark the lines on the wall with the level tool.

2. Put the panel on the table and make 4 holes in the sides ( not less than 5 sm from the edge of the panel).

3.To have the head of the screw deep inside the panel make the countersink of the holes.

4. Bring the panel to the wall and stick it to the place of fastening. Mark the edges of the panel with a pencil or marker and without removing the panel mark the points on the walls through the holes to make further drilling.

5. Take off the panel from the wall and make 4 holes with a drill.

6.After fixing the dowels out a thin layer of gypsum mixture on the wall.

7.Fasten the panel to the wall with the screws.

Making sure that the first row is fastened firmly go on the installation till all the rows of the panel will be installed. It's necessary to use gypsum putty while installation with dowels. The mixture amortizes the defects on the walls. Putting the thin layer on the wall and/or on the panel and combing it is necessary.

Make the countersink on gypsum panels for the following putting of the heads of the screws with the final putty.

If necessary, cut the final row of the panels in accordance with the height of the ceiling. Use ordinary saw with small cogs.

THREE STAGES OF SEAM PROCESSING

After installation of the panels the same gypsum putty must be used to cover the seams between panels. Try to make a smooth seam. Leave the panels for 24 hours. After drying the seams must be processed with fine-grained sandpaper (N200). Try not to use the sandpaper on the model, only on the seams. Outline the details of the ornament. Then again process with gypsum putty and leave for 24 hours. Process with sandpaper again. The final processing is to be done with chalk finish putty (usually ready mixture in jars). Use the contrast light to reveal the defects. Further processing is desirable. Everything must look perfect.

PAINTING

The panels can be painted with acrylic, latex, water-emulsion paints, nitro-enamel and textured paints. To reduce paint consumption the panels can be grounded beforehand. the painting is done with the use of spray gun. Only the models with slight texture can be painted with the roller.

Note: It's desirable to use the materials of high quality, however the most important aspect is the skilled master. We have made sure that desirable result can be achieved with the materials of medium prices. Use the materials in accordance with your taste, with the ones you are accustomed to working.
